Halt and/or Alarm If <fwhm> Exceeds a Specific Value

JTWaters

Question

In a future release it would be real nice to have this feature.  Halt imaging and/or alarm if <fwhm> exceeds a specific value.

  • FWHM Alarm Value       [user Entered Real Number Value From 1 to 5 - Default to NONE or 0]
  • Halt Image Capture       [Check Box - Default to NONE]
  • Alarm                             [Check Box - Default to NONE]

Perhaps a percentage change would be better metric than an absolute FWHM value as the alarm limit. That way the same value could apply to different setups with different resolutions (different scopes and/or cameras). It would not need to be changed as much.

It would also be simpler to track the size change of just a single star pretty easily. The only issue is that the user would have to identify which star to use. This could be done after the first image in a sequence is displayed.
