new Celestron NexStar hand controler

I was just browsing around and discovered that Celestron has released a new Nexstar Hand controller.

it has a mine USB port.

The linked page doesn't say, but I wonder if the new hand controller is compatible with StarSense AutoAlign camera!.

 

The miniUSB plug is held in place by friction. There is no catch like the little tab on the RJ-11 plug at the end of the white serial cable. I can imagine accidentally pulling the USB cable out of the hand controller while moving around the mount with it.

 

Also I use the serial port and cable with a BlueTooth dongle (Sky BT) to slew the scope from Sky Safari on my Android tablet. I can't lose the serial port.

 

Otherwise, it is a long overdue improvement that would be useful for many folks.

They have 3 versions EQ PN. 93982, AZ PN. 93981, and StarSence PN. 93999

search the Celestron website to find the correct one you need.
