Guylain,

is this forum setup for automatic daily digest emails? It is very convenient feature.

Jerry

Yes, it conveniently eats up all messages and has an in-digest-ion

Seriously though, the email digest is a built feature of the forum solution I'm using.  It is called 'Subscription' and can be set at the forum level or the topic level.

Will emails generated by this form software be plain text format or HTML format?

The reason I ask is I run most all my digital equipment as battery-operated from solar power, and I have a real problem with bandwidth of HTML format email. I am hopeful that the email format will be plain text, or the user will be able to select whether emails sent to that person are plain text versus HTML.

They are plain text.

Guylain,

By chance, your reply was the first e-mail reply sent to my system. The format is perfect.

And again my congratulations on the new forum, I'm looking forward to the future with it.

Now the questions become more businesslike. Having read your post about the delays and your trip to Germany, what do you anticipate now for completion of the backyardEOS autofocus routine?

A little off-topic here but while I'm here, what do you anticipate as a release time for the beta test software of backyardNikon?

Again congratulations on the new forum,

I have a good run in January on the auto focus routine getting to a reasonable focus point using my own v-curve algorithm.  But the implementation in the code is still lacking <_ i very fussy on this feature because it is such an important and people will blindly depend as want to make sure not a half baked when release it.>

Good progress on BackyardNIKON.  The camera connects and read/set properties.  I have 'take pictures' and 'live view' done but need to be connected to the UI and capture plan.  I still have to do the image download to PC thingy... but when that is done the current BackyardEOS process will kick it automatically and read the exif data and rename the files.

Hope this helps,

Guylain
