First, choosing the wrong option Canon vs. Canon210 will not damage your camera, but it may not work.

The Canon210 SDK/drivers was provided for DIGIC Ii and earlier cameras, like the 5D and the 20D. While it may work for a 40D, because it was an early DIGIC III model, you should try the Canon SDK/drivers first. It is a newer version of the SDK and may contain some fixes that are not in the 210 version.

I would also say that the cameras that the 210 version of the SDK was provided for are really no longer supported even by BYE because Canon dropped support for them several years ago and never provided low level drivers for them for 64-bit PCs. The O'Telescope devs have never removed that option from BYE, but it is of no practical use, even if it does actually work for some later models.

I powered up and was offered two different drivers: the Canon driver and the Canon215 driver. As the latter showed it was for Digic3/4/5/6 I tried it first. It works!

Here is what I see:

It shows Canon and Canon210 (not Canon215).

Also, Canon (the former, not the latter) is the correct option to select.

Finally, since the Canon210 option is no longer supported, because even BYE no longer supports the DIGIC II models, you should probably select the checkbox at the bottom to "Remember my selection and don't ask me again." Hopefully, the Canon210 option will be removed from BYE in a future release.
