The PC must have a USB port to use BYE.

Look in the Canon user guide for your camera model where it describes how to connect the camera to the PC.

If the camera has WiFi communications, you must disable it in order for BYE to connect to the camera. This is because BYE uses the Canon SDK, a software library that Canon provides to 3rd party developers like O'Telescope. The Canon SDK does not allow independent developers to connect to the camera with WiFi. You can only use the camera's USB connection. The camera usually comes with a short USB cable. Plug one end into the camera and the other end into the PC. Turn the camera on, put it in Manual (M) shooting mode, start BYE and click Connect.

If you have other issues, feel free to report them in this forum, but please provide the version of BYE (a 3 part number like 3.2.3) and the model of the camera that you are trying to connect to in each new post.

Be aware that BYE does not support all models of Canon EOS DSLRs. This is only because Canon decided not to support USB connections for some models. The BYE Supported Cameras table on this web site lists the supported models, and some others that are not supported. If your camera model is recently released, it may not be supported yet. It can take several weeks or longer before BYE supports new models.
