There is a manual that is installed with BYN. The easiest way to access it is to start BYN and click on the question mark button at the right end of the title bar.

One of the topics is "Impatient Instructions for Imaging". You should read those instructions and if anything is unclear, read the rest of the Deep Sky Imaging chapter.

Now to answer your question...No, you do not start a capture plan by pressing the camera's shutter release. You click on the Start Capture button at the bottom of the BYN window. BYN is designed so that for the vast majority of functions you should not need to touch the camera after powering it on and putting it in Manual exposure mode.
