Problems with downloading images to computer

mlois

Question

Hello:
I hope you can help I never had this problem before.

yesterday I set up to image and started my protocol as usual setting number of exposures, time, iso etc..

I started acquiring and noticves it was taking forever to go from one expossure to the next one. I also noticed I was not getting any thumbnails. and to my surprise I had no images saved on my folder or in backyard temp.. In all I got nothing of all nights worth of imaging

I checked the cables and they were working (used the check cables option from EOS; The app I noticed gave up after 140 some seconds everytime.

I have not installed anything new or changed anything. I rebooted the computer and still ahd the same issue

All cables were checked and they are fine (when I use the same cables to connect to the computer I can download photos)

OS is windows 8 and the computer is an ASIUS

any ideas/suggestions?

This looks to me like your camera is not firing the "image ready for download event".  I have seen this about 5 or 6 times in 8 years.  It is rare and can be a sign that your camera is defective, sorry :(

However, try power-cycling your camera.  Remove the battery for 10 minutes and try again.

Keep us posted,

Thanks for the response. after so much searching and digging I found that the problem is my DUSB cable not being found. somehow it has gone faulty : (

it is odd as everything was working until the other night.
Guess I will need to get a new one : ( once I get it I let you know

I tried to shoot with 30 sec instead of bulb and everything worked well.
