BYEOS 3.1.3 won't start on HP mini

lukasik

Question

Hi Guylain,

actually a previous version 3.1.0 that had been working wouldn't start up either.  Tonight was the first time I've touched the mini since early January when it all worked.  I haven't knowingly install / uninstalled anything.  I tried wiping all traces of BYEOS from the machine (not the registry though) and did a clean install of 3.1.3.  Tried to ensure nothing was set to block operation.

The mini is running Win XP Home Edition that came with it.  I intend to try getting Win 7 on the machine, so if all else fails I can try that.  I'd still like to try the new version before gutting the machine.

I hate to ask for help without providing useful info, but the log file isn't even being generated.  The two usual temp directories haven't been created by the program yet.

Can you offer any ideas to help troubleshooting?  I'm at a bit of a loss as it all worked without a hitch before, and I'm not sure what has changed on the machine.  Attached is the message Windows gives.

Thank you for any insights.

Best Regards,

Bob

edit:  can't seem to get the attchment working - sorry!  I'll keep trying.

Looks to me more like a .net issue if the log folders aren't event created, that is almost the 1st line of code that runs.

Make sure your Windows is up to date and more importantly the .net 4 framework.

Have you ran a complete anti-virus scan?
