D700 img download time = exposure duration?

adamland

Question

Using my D700 connected with just a simple USB cable, I've noticed that the time it takes BYN to download an image is equal to the exposure duration. Not a huge deal while limited to 30" exposures, but once I get my DSUSB it will become more painful :).

I've uploaded a video demonstrating the issue as well as logs: https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=9222574FD72938AE!71435&authkey=!AHbMiOy4h9IY3H4&ithint=folder%2cavi

Thanks for the video :)

This looks like a timing issue bug.  the count down timer is suppose to count during the exposure but it does not seem to start before the end of the exposure.  This is a bug.

HOWEVER, this will NOT occur with BULB, the process is different, so you will not get this issue with the DSUSB cable and bulb.  This issue is strictly with timed value exposure, not bulb.

Hope this helps,

Regards,
