Software licence question?

garymck

Question

Hi,

I noticed every time I started the trial version of Backyard Nikon, that it validated the licence - I assume via the internet connection I have at home. Does the full version require this, if so how can it be used at a dark sky site with no internet?

cheers

Gary

Yes it does call home every now and then.

No worries for remote location with no internet connection.  There is provision for that in the validation process.

I may force all trials to call home and prevent access if it can't reach home in the near future due to abuse and piracy... but not for purchases, too many of us go at remote locations to image where an internet connection is not available.

Hope this helps,

Guylain
