License fault error

Question

I am getting the following error at startup of Backyard EOS v3.1:

Licence error!

 

(C: INACTIVE) - The key provided has been deactivated (or has not been activated yet). Please contact us.

=========================================================================================

 

I am getting the error ONLY on my backup netbook computer where i have a copy of Backyard EOS installed in Windows XP. This copy worked fine for the last weeks but i have the eooror since i tried yesterday.

Backyard EOS works fine on my "astro"-laptop at the telecope that i use at the telescope, but that laptop is never connected to the internet.

I never use the laptops at the same time, what is wrong?

Problem solved.

 

I had to reissue Kees a new key.

 

I will always jump head over heels to solve issues like this one.  The last thing I ever want it to prevent legitimate users from using the system due to a validation error.

 

I still do not know why that key validated on 1 computer and did not validate on another computer.  Reissuing a new key solved the problem and Kees is back in business.

Kees,

 

Your key has NOT been deactivated.  We need to figure out why you are getting this error :(

 

Can you please verify that you are not running off an expired trial key.  That would do it.

 

Please send me the key you are using and I'll run a quick audit on it.

Hi Kees,

 

Okay, I did a bit of digging and you did nothing wrong so don't worry about that... it's a server side error.

 

For some reason that key is returning a fault error on that computer and not others.  I just tried your key on my computer and it validated.

 

Please send me an email immediately at support@otelescope.com and I will issue you another key immediately.
