BYE running in a very jerky way...

vmcatee

Question

The other night, I upgraded from the trial to the Pro version. Immediately on entering the new license key, the app began to run in a jerky way. When in frame and focus mode, it seemed to work fine for a few seconds then freezees for several seconds and so on. Framing and focusing was near impossible. I finally managed to get it done and started an image run. After each sub, it tries to download then queues up the images. Not one of the 25 images I thought I captured that night downloaded to my mac.

I thought it might be the USB cable so I replaced it - same thing. I thought something wonky happened when I upgraded so I deleted the program (using Windows uninstall) and downloaded a new version (3.03) and reinstalled. Same thing. I am sitting at the kitchen table with my T3i shooting 1sec images out the window and get the same result ....

It is almost like it is CPU starved... weird as the trial version worked just fine.

I am running on a brand new mac book pro with the 2.6 Ghz Intel Core and 16GB of ram.  On top of that is Parallels and Windows 8.  Again, The trial version ran just fine.  This all started at the upgrade which should have been nothing more than a license key....

Ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks

Van

Van,

There is absolutely nothing different between the trial and the purchase version.

THEY USE THE SAME CODE so that can not be it, I guarantee it!

Are you taking BULB shot under 30 seconds???  If yes that -could- be the culprit!

Try taking TV images instead of BULB when you want to take < 30 seconds.

If you still have issues send me an email at backyardEOS@binaryrivers.com and I'll do a remote login to find the root cause and fix it.

Again, this has nothing to do with trial versus purchase.

Regards,

Guylain

UPDATE....

Guylain got right back to me...    Seems it was a issue with Parallels.  I closed and restarted it and my CPU utilization dropped from 27% to 4% and BYE started working correctly again.

Now I need to figure out what the heck was going on with Parallels...

Guylain Rocks!

Many thanks kind sir for the help late on a sunday night.
