More Complex Histogram Manipulation

Paragon

Question

One thing I'd really like to see is some improvement to the histogram viewer in the imaging session interface. There are a few really key features that are missing that would make life SOOO much easier.

  1. Add the ability to set the histogram scale. Currently, it appears to be hard-set to linear, with some degree of zooming available. Having the ability to use logarithmic scaling is a HUGE boon for solar photography, and should justify the feature by itself. See this article for an explanation, if you don't know what I mean.
  2. This one is more difficult, but a histogram view during live viewing would also be hugely helpful, both for solar and planetary photography. Reasons relatively obvious, given feature #1.
  3. It'd be awesome to be able to isolate and manipulate the R/G/B channels individually.
  4. Manual zoom! Some parts of the histogram matter far more than others, and sometimes I wanna dig in and take a deeper look. ;)

I can't stress how much I think BYE needs #1. If you only pick one thing to pay attention to here, pllleeeeassseee pay attention to that one! :)

Love BYE, couldn't imagine life without it!

This is very good info.  I'll add to this request the ability to see the raw histogram as well.

This is not a feature that can be done overnight so it will have to be in a major version release for sure.  Overall it's an awesome request and I like it.

Regards,
