Bye And Aavso

I haven't used BYE for a while so my knowledge is stale. I recently joined AAVSO and I want to start DSLR photometry.  The tutorial mentions as good software BYE to capture images.  I wonder if anyone in this group is in AAVSO and what photometry processing software you use? Maxim DL is mentioned but the price is rather stiff for a beginner.

Any suggestions?

A question such as this might get a stronger response if posted onto a General Purpose Astronomy Forum such as AstronomyForum.net or CloudyNights.com.  There are quite a large number of BYE Users on each of these (and other Astro forums), and surely some with experience in Photometry.
