Drift Alignment

Bullet

Question

Hi!  I am running B.Y.E. ver. 3.2.1 2020-12-03. Can anyone point me to an article or site where I can learn how to use the Drift Alignment feature of B.Y.E. I use an older Celestron 8 inch S.C.T. It does have to be slewed manually but is equipped with Digital Setting Circles (Optical Encoders) and a separate external computer box "Advanced Astro Master" that has a Polar Alignment program. The scope came with a good 7x50 Finder Scope that also has an Illuminated Reticle for alignment. I can get to a rough polar alignment with the present equipment and would like to be able to accomplish the drift method that is in BYE for the most accurate alignment I can get. Thank you for the help.

There is no real 'automated' process to drift align in BYE.  It simply displays the live view stream, and it gives you a crosshair to eyeball the drift over time. You can record your drift to see it better but other that this it is all manual.

This may help.
