trial license activation error

nicolesharp100

Question

I just purchased the Backyard EOS 3.1 Trial Edition (free) and then downloaded and installed Backyard EOS 3.2.0.  When attempting to enter my License Key, I get the following error message:

"License activation error!  Trial keys require Internet access and MUST use the latest release; make sure to download the latest release."

How do I activate my free trial if the latest release is 3.2 and the trial is for 3.1?  Should I uninstall 3.2.0 and install 3.1.18 instead?

I uninstalled 3.2.0 and installed 3.1.18 instead, but still get the same License Activation Error.

I also checked Bitdefender Firewall, and "BinaryRivers.BackyardEOS.Start.Camera1.exe" was automatically granted an exception, so it is not being blocked by the firewall.

I would be willing to purchase to try it out, but the refund policy says there are no refunds on software purchases 😞 .

Any solution here to get the trial working?

There is no activity on the server for your trial key, so the request to activate the key doesn't even reach the server.  Something else at your end is preventing the call.

Some anti-virus will block the call, you may want to temporarily disable it for a few seconds, try to validate, then re-enable it.

Please download 3.2.1.  A brilliant user (not you) had the bright idea to report the file download as inappropriate content and the moderators (that would be me) inadvertently removed the link to the latest version 3.2.1 (my bad).  It is now back in the download section.  Keep us posted.
