I cannot get the Bulb function to work. Log says I need a configured serial cable for BULB or Mirror Lock. I have a serial cable I purchased a few years back to use from Shoestring Astronomy. It use to work just fine with that cable. However I cannot get the camera (Nikon D7000) to connect with that cable. I can only connect with a USB cable. I'm sure I'm overlooking something.

You need to use both cables at the same time. The DSUSB cable from Shoestring Astronomy only controls the shutter for BULB exposures. You also need the regular USB cable for all other control function
