Frame and Focus not working on Canon 5D Mark III

jmccul

Question

I have used Frame and focus on my other cameras with no problem.  I though it worked before with this camera.  Now it is not.  I even upgraded my firmware to the latest Canon version.   When I click on Frame and Focus the camera just hangs and I do not get a live image.  Sometimes it even causes BYEOS to hang and I must reboot.  I am using BYEOS 3.1.18.

Thanks, Jodi

I just turned the button on the camera to video mode and now it works.  I don't think that should be the case but as long as I can get frame and focus to work, and still image, I am happy.  Maybe there is something wrong with my camera?

Jodi,

Have you tried a Factory Reset on the camera? The most likely cause is a conflicting camera setting.

You need to make sure that LiveView shooting as enabled in the camera settings and that the Live View shooting/Movie shooting switch is in the correct position per page 200 in the manual.
