Nikon D5100

Hello,

I tried connecting my Nikon d5100 in backyardnikon. I used DSUSB (came today) and it doesn`t work. It writes camera not found (pic Nr.1). If I connect the camera directly to the USB port it works (pic. Nr.2), but I can not do loger expesure ten 30 sec.

What should I do?

The DSUSB cable is only for controlling the shutter during BULB exposures. You also need the regular USB cable for all other control functions. So you must connect both cables in parallel.

I spent all day trying to figure out why the dsusb would connect but BYN would not.  Unfortunately for me, I could not find my d5100 usb cable anywhere as I bought the camera almost a decade ago and have never really needed it.  So I'll have to wait until Monday until Amazon brings me another one.  At least it was only $9.  

Thanks for solving the mystery for me, though. Saved me a bunch of extra headache.
