Forum In-Thread Reply Tool - Frustrating to Attach Text Files

s3igell

Question

It would seem that by far the most commonly used Tool in the Forum (except for the simple Forum Listing / Browsing tool) is the "Reply" tool that covers the foot of the User's current Forum Thread (not the "Reply" button that leads to a separate "New Reply" page).

This "Reply Tool" has all the same Text Entry and Editing functions as its more powerful "New Reply Page" cousin, including Insert Link / Insert Photo / Insert Video (these are rather powerful dialog-based tools).  But the equally powerful / complex Attach File tool is not present, unless you know to use the "More Reply Options" button outside and below the Reply Tool.  And using that button leads to a visually SAME tool at the head of a different page, below which the needed Attach File tool is finally accessible.

This indirection is a bit difficult to remember at times...  BUT, what is worse is that while the "Reply Tool" covered the full-width of the Browser form, the equivalent "New Reply tool" text area is SMALLER - occupying a seemingly fixed 800pixel width.  This messes with the Formatting and makes it difficult to ensure that the Attach File function is performed at the desired location.

(Sorry...  I know that you are not the Author of the Forum Software, rather just a Customer.  So, please don't take this "rant" as pointed at you.  But, if possible, please provide this as Feedback to your Vendor.)
