Well the first clue is in your message.  If it worked for several outings and now not there is something that has changed in your environment.  We need to find out what.

From the log files, and they all show some evidence, it appears like the camera is shutting down on its own.

Can you try with batteries instead of AC power.  Because the camera is shutting down we need to eliminate the AC adapter as a possible cause.

Then try with the camera connected directly in the computer, no hubs.

Did you change how you connected everything recently?

Keep us posted,

I haven't change any settings or configuration since the first beta.i will however try the batteries when I get home this evening, will keep you posted....Richard

The difference between beta 2d and 2e is image display only, no changes were done in any camera communication parts.

Keep me posted on this one.

Regards,

I retried BYN with batteries, works fine...disconnect and retry 3 times with AC adapter, works fine, even get shutter release sound..takes image in bulb and displays fine.I've always ran an AC adapter and I believe this only happened to me twice....where the next evening, everything works flawlessly without changing any of my configuration, and I don't connect through hubs.I've completed many images averaging 7-8 hours of data each and this really never happens...only the 2 times.

Is it possible that a USB connection was loose, e.i. the cable was not completely inserted to a point where a small sag/pull would cause it to disconnect?

Guylain,I've had no problems since I deleted the D80 file....I've been out several times since

Good.  Maybe I should allow for a -safe- connect option where I ask what camera will be used an only load those drivers to prevent conflict.

Morning Guylain,

last night, everything connected fine but wasn't able to capture bulb.the red and green light on cable came on so I figured Steve's cable works fine.Capture was fine on non-bulb exposures.I did try the batteries...same issue,so I rule out the AC adapter.I can't see it being a hardware or connection issue....I'm out at this very moment..reconnected everything and everything works great, including taking bulb images.

I've included a few logfiles...

I sent you an email with an error message that Windows posted on screen...Richard

He there,

There is nothing in that log file, just a quick connect/disconnect of the camera.  I do not need the background worker log file for this issue, just the regular one... but I need one that shows the issue happening :)

Thanks

sorry,here are the ones...

Humm, this is interesting.  It looks like the drivers for the D80 maybe causing grief.

Please delete the TypeD80 folder "\Nikon\TypeD80\" in the BYN installation folder and see if it will happen again.

I deleted the D80 file,it did look funny to me as I never seen it in any log files before...BYN and taking bulb images worked perfect!!actually I noticed that when I gave BYN a command,it would lag a bit....just now everything worked so fast, every command was instantaneous B)...I will however keep an eye on that.

I would like to share just one downsized image that you and your program help me achieve...I will not overload your site with images...Thank you Richard
