EOS 5D Classic any tips?

Question

I am using the original 5D. It doesn't have live view. Are there any tricks or suggestions to make life easier? When I try to focus or center the subject in view, it just takes too long to get the next image on screen. What is BYE doing for so long processing? Sometimes there are 4 images in que before it lets you see them. Should I try use in camera settings and set the image quality to lowest? Maybe that might speed things up. Has anyone try using the Magiclantern mod?

If you take < 30 seconds images DO take TV images instead of BULB.  They will not get queued in 3.0.x.

This is fix in 3.1.  The RC release is here.
