According to the BYE Camera Support Grid the 5D Mk IV is supported in the latest version 3.1.16 of BYE. However, the Canon SDK, which BYE uses, only supports a wired USB connection. So you must disable WiFi in the camera and stretch a USB cable between the camera and the PC. The good news is that the wired connection will be much faster than a WiFi connection.

I will also say that there are some who have been successful using the WiFi by using the Canon EOS Utility to create the wireless connection before attempting to connect with BYE. You do need to disconnect the EOS Utility from the camera before starting BYE, however.

Also note that another reason for preferring the wired connection is that some star parties which provide WiFi on the observing field do not allow use of WiFi for controlling your astro gear, including the camera.

If you still have issues, please make sure that you are using the latest release of BYE before reporting an issue...AND please tell us which version of the software you are using.
