It seems this has been suggested in the past but the response has generally been "suggest a good reason why".
I'm a member of the AAVSO and use their member only software VPHOT to stack and and do photometry on images of variable stars. To use VPHOT the image must be uploaded as a FIT as shown below.

I currently use a BYEOS supported Canon T7i which unfortunately isn't supported by any other imaging software I own that produces FITS (MaxIM DL or SGP). I take my images with BYEOS (30 variable stars a night @10 exposures each), open them (all 300) in MaxIM DL, save them back as FITS, and then upload to the AAVSO's server. Going directly from a BYEOS saved FITS to upload would save me considerable time.
Please consider adding FITS support to BYEOS.
