Mirror lock setting of 1 has a 2 sec delay?

Can anyone explain why setting the Mirror Lock to 1 results in a 2 second countdown? Is it possible to set the anti-vibration countdown to 1 sec (I can't afford more than that and still get all of my eclipse images in the 2min window). I seem to only have the choice of no mirror lock anti-vibration pause or 2 sec or more.

Thanks! By the way, the ability to save to the camera only is a great feature for capturing the eclipse. I tried other software, but the long download time to PC made it impractical. I need to optimize that short 2 min of totality!
