T6i usb connection problems

matthewm3721

Question

I'm presently running x64 based windows 10.

BYE version 3.1.3 Premium.

  • EOS utility is not installed.
  • the camera battery is fully charged.
  • the camera is on ;)
  • Using a direct mini B USB connection to my laptop. (have tried all ports with no luck connecting successfully)
  • the aforementioned USB cable does recognize my camera and I am able to import photos, but not connect to BYE.
  • I have went into advanced settings and ticked the box involving the driver check.
  • when prompted, I am selecting the correct type(DIGIC 3/4/5/6) of driver for my camera (DIGIC VI)

despite all of those steps, no sauce.

The log history is as follows:

23:54:20  Licensed to matthewm3721
23:54:34  Attempting to connect camera...
23:54:34  Canon drivers 'Canon\' initialized.
23:54:34  DEVICEINFO DESCRIPTION IS Canon EOS Rebel T6i
23:54:34  DEVICEINFO NUMBER IS 3470492101.
23:54:34  YOUR *REAL* MODEL NUMBER IS 4294967294(FFFFFFFE)
23:54:34  Generic model 153 assumed!

ANY help would be much appreciated! thanks :)

Please download the latest version and it should work.

Reporting a camera not connecting with an older version of the software where the actual camera model was not even released at that time is not really practical.
