Frame and Focus defaults

RadOD

Question

D750 on BYN 2.0.1 on a Dell XPS15 with Win10

Every time BYN starts, Frame and focus defaults to the highest ISO (Hi-2.0) and a seemingly random shutter speed.

-Is there any way to choose a defult?

If I choose BULB, if I don't click duration just the right way right it becomes unselectable and I need reselect BULB again.  Also, as soon as I take a snap image, duration blinks off and I need to choose BULB over again before I can change the duration.

-Any fix for this?  This adds a lot of time to focusing.

I disabled max sensitivity but I still have problems:

Here's what I'm doing:

  1. Start BYN
  2. Connect to D750
  3. Click Frame and Focus
  4. Set Shutter to Bulb, 5, 12800, 0
  5. Snap Image.  I get the image ok but duration is now blank, shutter changes to 1
  6. Snap Image (not changing anythting).  Works but 1s exposure.
  7. Again set to Bulb, 5, 12800, 0
  8. Again, Snap Image.  Works, but now it has changed itself to Bulb, blank!, 12800, 0
  9. Now if I snap an image I get "Busy 1" and a spinning circle in the top right.  I have to turn off camera and reconnect to do anything else.

This adds a lot of time to focusing.

I can upload screenshots if desired.

I was not on bulb!  I thought that might fix it but no luck - same behavior when camera is on bulb, M, and manual focus.  Can't even choose a bulb value without first choosing a time then going back to bulb.

Mirror lock is off.  (Doubt its important but I do use mirror lock sometimes - it works if I connect both the standard USB and DSUSB at the same time.  USB only right now though.)

Using time rather than bulb works normally.

The fact that timed value works and not bulb is weird.

What version if BYN are you using?

I see from your initial post you are using the latest 2.0.1.  This is good.

Which drivers are you using in BYN when connecting your camera?  Nikon or Nikon2015?

Regards,
