Folks seem to have problems configuring and using a serial cable for BULB exposures. When I tried the Test Cable button on the Imaging screen nothing happened. When I looked in the log file I saw the "ERROR - DSUSB cable error: Cable not found!" message.
I expected that an error would be generated, because there was no cable connected, but I also expected that the fact would be displayed to me via some kind of popup.
Perhaps, a message box could be displayed to either confirm that the cable appears to be working correctly or displaying a user-friendly error message with suggestions for additional testing or settings changes.
