Exposure Bracketing

jldodge

Question

As I understand it, Backyard Nikon cannot do exposure bracketing as the SDK does not expose bracketing as an option to be controlled. Does that mean that each exposure (in a bracket setting) needs to be a separate line in the plan? What other options are there to do exposure bracketing without having a plan with hundreds of lines when imaging an eclipse?

BackyardNikon was not particularly designed for eclipse photography. It is written to target deep sky long exposure imaging.

Why would you think that you would need hundreds of lines in a capture plan? BYN does directly support this, BTW.

More critical is knowing enough about the eclipse to schedule images to be taken at the correct time during the eclipse.

You might want to check out EclipseOrchestrator. It may be a more appropriate tool for imaging an eclipse. It knows the timing of the different events for a given eclipse.
