Is Canon R50 compatible with Backyard EOS

ashonle

Question

Hello,

I'm wondering if it's possible to use the Canon R50 with Backyard EOS? It's recognizing the model but not connecting. I noticed earlier this year someone in the support forum was able to get their R50 working with a bit of software, but that software link isn't working any longer.

This is the log info we are getting:

17:35:22  BackyardEOS 3.2.3 Classic Edition
17:35:30  Attempting to connect camera...
17:35:30  Canon drivers 'Canon\' initialized.
17:35:30  DEVICEINFO DESCRIPTION IS Canon EOS R50
17:35:30  DEVICEINFO NUMBER IS 2971957947.
17:35:30  YOUR *REAL* MODEL NUMBER IS 2147484800(80000480)

17:35:30  YOUR camera is not currently supported by the Canon SDK available at the time of this software release.
17:35:30  Camera Not Found!  Make sure it's connected to the PC and turned ON :)

Thank you

Thank you so much. We were able to connect the camera with 3.5.

The files, as far as we can tell, aren't getting saved. The queue pops up very briefly and then disappears.

This was our log after a brief test. Any ideas?

20:21:43  Planetary imaging started.
20:21:49  Capturing 30.4 frames per second.
20:21:50  25 planetary frames captured.
20:21:51  Retrieving the COM class factory for component with CLSID {40D02BB3-80B5-4EAF-A264-61B9EF30BBE2} failed due to the following error: 80040154 Class not registered (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80040154 (REGDB_E_CLASSNOTREG)).

I started a new thread in the BackyardEOS forum to keep this "Feature Suggestion Box" forum clean.
