Almost new to Windows and activation issues (trial version)

Question

Hello everybody,

I don't know if anyone solved already this exact issue with activation. I browsed some old posts but couldn't find a solution.

A friend of mine lent me this quite old laptop that runs max Win 7 (it is a HP Compaq 6510b), to run astrophotography softwares.

I'm looking forward to get BackyardEOS because of the framing feature especially, but I'd like to try it first.

When I write my trial activation key and identifier and click on "Validate" I get this message: License activation error! Trial keys require Internet access. If you are connected to the Internet, please make sure your firewall and/or antivirus is not blocking access to the server.

So I disabled the firewall and there is no antivirus on this laptop, but I repeatedly get this same error message.

What can I do?

Hello folks and thank you a lot admin for your kind support.

Now the problem is solved: I bought a new miniPC with Win 10 installed, downloaded again the trial file, "bought" again the trial license and now everything is working out great!

I'll try the software but I'm already thinking that I will get the full license as it seems the perfect solution for my setup (I use a Star Adventurer 2i and BackyardEOS looks perfectly tailored for my needs!).

Kind regards and keep up the good work,

Federica
