This web site is very handy, whether or not you're going to buy your cables from them. Click "Search by camera" and it will tell you what kind of cables your camera needs. For example, Nikon USB ports are usually either mini-B 5-pin (common) or mini-B 8-pin (rare) and they will tell you which is used for a particular model.
