Question

I am the original creator of the DIY USB Shutter cable (triggered by RTS signal.)
If you can do soldering or a friend can help you, here is my offer:
The partial kit will be completely free. Shipping method is USPS 1st class mail on me for US address.
The partial kit contains: 1 resistor, 1 transistor, 2 diodes, a pair of wires, shrink wrap tube, a small spool of solder
You still have to buy these:
1. a USB-to-RS232 dongle <-- about $8.50 to $10 shipped (source eBay)
2. a Nikon MC-DC2 cable (clone) <-- about $3 shipped (source eBay)
3. (if don't have it) a soldering iron
The original article is in Cloudy Nights:

If you like this approach, please PM me through CONTACT.
P.S. I think I have few kits immediately available now.

Just wish to add: The partial kit costs me nothing so don't worry. It will be free. The USB-serial dongle has to be the 6-wire version, not the commonly seen 4-wire version. It was mention in m
