  1. I know I can select a folder in which to put a file, but I really want to have the frame type, target name, and date as folders created on the fly. My organization is like this: <parent>\<frametype>\<target>\<date>\<filename> There's a lot more to it than that. I have several cameras and several telescopes and I use other apps for taking images than just BYE, so <parent> folder gets a bit complicated since I want to organize my images accordingly. Essentially, I just want to set the <parent> folder in Settings and let BYE create the folders <frametype>, <target>, and <date> for me. This can be done with other apps. It makes it easier for me to be able to organize my photos and be a lot more automatic with a session. It would seem that a special character in Settings for the filename could be used to tell BYE to create a folder using the enclosed name: %<frametype>%<target>%<date>%<target>_<exposure>s_iso<ISO>_ Or just simply recognize that '\' is to be used to create a folder using the preceding name: <frametype>\<target>\<date>\<target>_<exposure>s_iso<ISO>_ John C
  2. Hi, have seen this raised many times, but first time for me. Everytime you close and open, all settings revert to default. Have reinstalled app in a different directory as I had read in forums, but still fails everytime unless you right click and run as admin. Is there any pending fix to this as of all apps, the windows update seems to have only affected BYEOS? Can it be added somehow to a safe list for apps or any other approaches welcome? Thanks
  3. If I change the language and click on "save". It isn't changed when I start BYE the next time :-( But the greater problem is, that when I change the location of the folder for the temps, pictures etc., it doesn't save this changes and there's not enough disk space on the default settings. What can I do to make BYE save my changes in the settings? Best regards! Barbara
  4. Problem: The settings in BackyardEOS 3.1.11 are not being saved. Here are some of the changes to the settings I made upon a startup: (1) changed display from night mode to the day mode, (2) at the Connect to camera (Canon-6D), I checked the box Remember my selection and don’t ask me again and select top most button (Digic 5/6…), (3) I checked the box Enable TCP Server (to use AstroTortilla), (4) in the Image Capture window I selected RAW and made changes to Filename template , Download folder, etc. I click Apply and Save. To invoke the Enable TCP Server I disconnected the camera and closed the program. Now, when I re-start BackyardEOS none of the settings outlined above have been saved. That is, the program starts in night mode, I have to re-identify the camera, the Enable TCP box is unchecked so AstroTortilla can’t be connected. In short none of my changes from the default settings were saved. I have repeated the event sequence, opened BackyardEOS /changed the settings/close BackyardEOS, and I have uninstalled/re-installed BackyardEOS, but the settings problem remains unresolved. I have a 2017 Dell Inspiron laptop with windows-10 and McAfee LiveSafe. I have searched the Forum for an answer without success. Is there a resolution to this problem?
  5. As the Feature Sets of even the Entry-level DSLRs have grown and quite often impact the successful operation of BYE/BYN Features (such as LiveView or Planetary or Focus), could you (Guylain) maintain a Table with the most common "Needful Settings"?? This could actually be a Table per BYE and BYN, with Rows for DSLR Model and Columns for each Setting (very similar to the "Supported Cameras" pages). Perhaps each Table could be hosted in a Curated Sticky pinned in the Support Forums, allowing Users to post Settings which they have found to be Needful to see these BYE/BYN Features to work with their Models. These "Settings Tables" could also be used to identify Features which are problematic for certain Models and SDKs. eg: For my 7DmkII, we came to the conclusion that Save to Camera Only is not supported. And I'm struggling with LiveView / Planetary - perhaps related to Disabling the Camera LCD Display (per a recent posting in another user's thread).
