  1. BYN freezes intermittently when I am using it. Sometimes it freezes during a download, and when I abort, it doesn't quit. I've tried this with a D5
  2. Hi, I would get errors like this once in a while. I simply reboot the laptop and it goes away. Tonight nothing worked to fix the problem. As you can see it connects, it works for a while, looses connection and BYN hangs up. When this happens it sometimes takes out ZWO ASI120MM and PHD2 can't recognize ZWO camera as well. 23:09:35 Processor Affinity 23:10:15 Attempting to connect camera... 23:10:15 Nikon2015/D5100 drivers initialized. 23:10:19 D5100 CONNECTED! 23:12:47 NIKON SDK ERROR: [kNkMAIDResult_CameraNotFound] (kNkMAIDCommand_Async, 0, kNkMAIDDataType_Null, 0) 23:12:47 Camera SHUTDOWN! 23:13:46 NIKON SDK ERROR: [kNkMAIDResult_CameraNotFound] (kNkMAIDCommand_Async, 0, kNkMAIDDataType_Null, 0) 23:13:48 NIKON SDK ERROR: [kNkMAIDResult_DuringUpdate] (kNkMAIDCommand_Open, 1, kNkMAIDDataType_ObjectPtr, 344695232) 23:13:48 NIKON SDK ERROR: [kNkMAIDResult_DuringUpdate] (kNkMAIDCommand_Open, 1, kNkMAIDDataType_ObjectPtr, 344820748) 23:13:48 NIKON SDK ERROR: [kNkMAIDResult_SessionFailure] (kNkMAIDCommand_Open, 1, kNkMAIDDataType_ObjectPtr, 344910836) I have a Keyspan USB to Serial adapter, Nikon UC-E6 USB cable, TEMPerHUM and ZWO ASI120MM camera connected to a 4-port USB hub which connects to my laptop. I have DSUSB connected directly to another USB port. I am running BYN, PHD2 and Cartes du ciel. My laptop is running Win 7 home. Most of the time this setup works perfectly. Thanks, Dan
  3. Hi guys, I just patched my Nikon D5100 with hacked firmware. From the patches available I chose just the "Liveview Manual Control ISO/Shutter", so I cound control the exposure in planetary mode, keeping the other patch options disabled. Now, when I use 5x feature in Live view (both planetary and framing), I get green rectangle on the image (see attached file). The rectangle is visible on the recording as well. When I revert to original firmware, the rectangle is not there. Any ideas how the rectangle can be disabled? Thank you, Frank
  4. Hi, My DSUSB-IR1 for my D5100 seems to have died. SO I have two questions: 1. In the compatability chart, it does not list IR for the D5100. Do I not need the IR option for it? That would be nice. 2. Assuming I do need the IR option, are there any alternatives to Shoestring Astronomy? I've always liked them, just seeing if there are other options. If anyone has any insight I would be very appreciative. Thanks, Chris
  5. I can't seem to get BYN 1.0.5 to recognize my D5100 on my Lenovo 100s laptop running windows 10 32bit (1.33GHz Intel Atom CPU, 2gb Ram). I've tried restarting the computer, taking the SD card out, switching USB ports. I tested the connection with a different software program and it could connect to the camera fine (live view, take pictures, etc). I tested BYN 1.05 on a different laptop running windows 10 (64 bit) and it worked fine. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you. Derick
  6. Hi, I just thought I would let everyone know of a problem I encountered - apparently (at least on my machine) V1.0.5 will not connect to my D5100. V1.0.4 works just fine. If anyone has a solution to this, please let me know. If you, guyroch, would like me to turn on the log4net logging and send you the results, just let me know. Also, please let me know where the log files are saved.
  7. Hi there, I have been unable to connect my Nikon D5100 camera to BYN. The camera is fully charged, the 'force use serial cable' is unchecked, the SD card is empty and I have tried without the SD card too, however I can't seem to connect. I've made sure the camera drivers are updated and the software is also up to date (1.0.4). I'm using the same USB cable as before and it worked fine but now nothing I do is helping, any advice would be helpful. This is what I see in the log history: 17:29:27 Licensed to jspratt 17:29:30 Nikon drivers initialized. 17:29:42 Attempting to connect camera... 17:29:48 Camera Not Found!
