ZWO Optical: The ASI174MM-Cool mono CMOS Imaging Camera allows the sensor to be cooled to 35C to 40C degrees below ambient. The 1″ sensor size and 5.86 pixel size of ASI174 make it very suitable for DSO imaging for most scopes.The high QE and low read noise and super fast speed of ASI174 make it to be a camera capable for all.

The sensor of the ZWO ASI 174 MM-C monochrome camera has 2.3 megapixels (1936 x 1216 pixels) used for deep-sky photography as well as planetary imagery and seeker.
The brand ZWO now has its range of cameras cooled: a double-stage TEC cooling regulated, lowers the temperature of the camera ASI 174 MM-C between -35 ° and -40 ° C below the ambient temperature. These cooling performances make it easy to photograph deep objects, such as galaxies, nebulae and other clusters of stars.
It is equipped with a very quiet fan, which allows to eliminate any source of superfluous heat produced by the electrical supply of the camera. A red LED indicates the activation of thermoelectric cooling. The power supply for the camera cooling (optional) is rectified and operates in 12V with a power of 2 amperes (2A), which makes it possible to operate the camera in the field, away from any urban light pollution.
It is also equipped with an anti-icing system (desiccant type) which keeps the sensor dry for more than a year. When frost appears on the sensor, it is easy to replace the desiccant by simply unscrewing the body of the camera for easy access to the imaging sensor chamber.
The relatively small diameter of the camera housing (78 mm) allows the coupling in fast-star mode on Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes, in order to obtain a short "focal / diameter" ratio for astrophotography Fast to very large field. This mode consists of replacing the secondary mirror by the camera with reduced diameter, allowing maximum light to pass to the primary mirror of the telescope.
In planetary mode, its acquisition speed reaches the rate of 164 fps at the resolution of 1936 x 1216 pixels, making it one of the fastest on the market.
This acquisition speed can be pushed to 577 fps when used at lower resolution (320 x 240 pixels).
For autoguiding, the camera is equipped with a standard ST4 port, adaptable to a very large number of commercial frames. Used for example with the free software PHD2 Guiding, this one proves to be very effective, with a final result composed mostly of images perfectly guided. Autoguiding can be performed with an accuracy to the tenth of a pixel. This asset makes it possible to use a relatively short focal length guide instrument in relation to the imaging instrument. Such precision requires meticulous parameterization of the PHD2 Guiding software. The camera also works with the free software MetaGuide.
The 174 MM-C UPS has a female M42 input thread; A mechanical M42 converter to the 31.75 mm and 50.8 mm cams are supplied with the camera to fit the standard eyepieces of the telescopes and eyeglasses on the market.
A 2m long USB cable and a ST4 autopilot cord are also part of the package.
