   The new FC/FS Multi-Flattener 1.04X is designed as a universal replacement to previous flatteners in the FS and FC series of fluorite doublet telescopes.  The flattener is a two element design that greatly improves the spherical aberration present in doublet telescopes.  This flattener works now only with all FS and FC telescopes currently in production, but also works with many older models.  Each telescope model requires a specific CA ring, as specified in the appropriate system chart.

   Takahashi America: The Takahashi Extender 1.7XR converts the FOA-60 telescope to the FOA-60Q, resulting in a final focal length of 901 mm.  When using this extender, the Strehl ratio of the telescope is over 99% across almost the entire visible spectrum.  In spite of the small aperture of the telescope, magnifications of up to 300 times are possible while maintaining a clear image.

   The Extender QE features a 2 inch barrel.

   When originally conceived, the FSQ-85EDX was meant for use with APS-C or smaller CCD or CMOS chips.  At image circle radii beyond about 14 mm, field curvature was evident in larger chips.  This new flattener will greatly reduce this field curvature, resulting in a practically flat field out to a 22 mm image circle radios.
