Atik 383L+ Mono [ATK-0067]
$2,445.95 USDAtik Cameras: The Atik 383L + features the Kodak KAF-8300 CCD. A huge amount has been written about this CCD to justify its place in astronomers’ hearts. We can sum it up succinctly by saying that it’s a fabulous CCD, with a huge number of good-sized pixels, and is currently available at an irresistible price. This sensor has redefined mid-range astro-imaging, making multi-megapixel cooled cameras much more accessible.
Atik prides itself on providing cameras offering the very highest image quality at a reasonable cost. We see no reason to change. We have built on the success of our highly-regarded Atik 314 platform to support Kodak’s KAF-8300. This immediately offers a huge number of advantages, including the very low read-noise circuits and the reliability of using this established design.
Quality hardware
The key to any high-quality camera is the ability to convert light collected by the sensor into digital information, while ensuring that as little noise as possible is added. The digital image needs to truly reflect the light collected. The Atik 383L+ achieves this, having:
Very low read-noise, 7 electrons, on a par with many Sony sensors, enabling faint details to be detected.
Great linearity, with a regression correlation coefficient of R = 0.9998 over the range 1,000 to 64,000, making the camera suitable for sensitive photometric measurements.
The bias frame histogram from the camera shows the ideal Gaussian shape, indicating that maximum detail can be extracted on processing.
The Atik 383L+ is a dream combination of low-noise electronics and a scientific grade sensor that we are able to offer at a fantastic price. Whether you are an established imager, or are just starting, the Atik 383L+ is a great choice. What's in the box?

Atik GP Mono [ATK-0119]
$497.19 USDAtik Cameras: Its compact size and light weight make it a joy to use on telescopes large and small. The senor used is the fantastically sensitive 1.3 million pixel ICX445 EXview II CCD from Sony. The GP is capable of up to 30 frames per second and will download both 8 bit data with the convenience of saving to standard avi file format, or 12 bit for full dynamic range as Tif and Fits format.
When used with the included GPAcquire software the camera is fully configurable with gain, region of interest, data format and a myriad of other settings enabling optimal planetary, solar and lunar imaging. Data can be save direct to disk or initially to memory to optimise frame rates with slightly slower hardware. Slowing things down a little the advanced passive cooling allows images of 1mS to several seconds to be collected, ideal for guiding. The camera is fully compatible with existing Atik software so can be used with our (included).
Capture software as well as plug ins for Maxim DL, AstroArt, and more though the ASCOM camera interface. Controlled this way it behaves much the same as our bigger cameras and will allow binning and sub framing. Guiding corrections are passed to the mount using an ASCOM interface. This is presents many advantages over the older ST4 guide port method including ease of set up, logging, and precision of guide corrections. But it does require that the mount is ASCOM compatible (as most modern mounts are) and linked to the computer. Guiding older mounts may still be possible with an USB to ST4 converter box, ask your dealer.
The GP does not have the active cooling of the Atik Titan so its potential for deep sky imaging is more limited, but it can be used to image the brighter deep sky objects.

Atik 414EX Color [ATK-0137]
$1,631.22 USDAtik Cameras: The Atik 414EX is the most sensitive camera in our range, and perfect as a first cooled CCD camera. It follows in the footsteps of the world renowned Atik 314L+, and with 60% more sensitivity at 650nm, it’s proudly living up to the exceptional standard set by its predecessor. The generous 6,45 µm pixel size not only adds to its exceptional sensitivity, but also makes it suitable across a broad range of telescopes, from short focal lengths with a reducer right up to longer focal lengths not catered for in a small pixel camera. The incredible Sony ICX825 EXview sensor combined with our high performance 4-Series design really does set the standard for cooled CCD cameras.
Features of the 4-Series
Our 4-Series is designed in such way as to combine power and control with flexibility and ease of use. The narrow body makes them ideal for use on Hyperstar and Fastar systems whilst maintaining suitability with a huge range of other telescopes. They feature fully regulated set-point cooling which makes for easy and consistent image calibration, though they feature such low noise that dark frames are no longer even a requirement, meaning you can spend more time imaging the things that matter.
The slim, ergonomic design of these cameras naturally comes in at a low weight to help minimize stress on the corrector plate. The desiccant port is readily accessible from outside the camera for easy maintenance, and a simple 12V power requirement is complimented by low power use to help you get the most out of your imaging sessions, whether in the observatory or out in the field.
EXview
All of our 4-EX series cameras use sensors embedded with Sony EXview HAD CCD II™ technology which results in outstanding Quantum Efficiency, incredibly low read noise and excellent thermal management. These high Quantum Efficiencies make for impressive sensitivity across a vast range of wavelengths, but become particularly outstanding when imaging in narrowband, capturing stunning levels of detail in even the faintest of objects.

Atik - EFW3 Filter wheel 50mm [ATK-0160]
$743.52 USDAtik Cameras: The EFW3 gives you more freedom and convenience to your imaging set up.
For a large format wheel, the EFW3 boasts a slim, lightweight design. It measures 238×213mm dimensions and weighs in at just approx. 850g. This is great news for large format set ups where weight can be a real concern. That said, the wheel is fully compatible with any Atik camera when using the supplied M54 or M42 adaptors. We’ve simplified the technical side of the design from the EFW2 to further improve reliability and minimise component wear and tear. However, it's still machined from solid aluminium to produce a durable and quality wheel that will keep turning, night after night.
Atik 16200 users will also be pleased to know that the EFW3 can either be attached directly to the camera as it is, or after removing the front plate to further minimise any backfocus requirements. With the front plate attached, the backfocus is 41.5mm, while the backfocus with the front plate removed is just 34.5mm.
On the software side of things, the EFW3 has a full ASCOM driver, so any complaint software can be used to control it. Additionally the EFW3 can be controlled using our Artemis Capture software, for simple and efficient operation

When used with Dusk, the Horizon II can not only be used as a cooled deep sky imaging camera but can also be used for high speed planetary imaging with frame rates reaching 300 frames per second using the ROI function.
Amp Glow ControlFrom the outset, the Horizon II has benefited from a built-in 256mb DDR3 image buffer to remove amp glow and other artifacts caused by data transfer over USB2, all while preventing issues with dropped frames. This makes for a seamless and fast imaging experience, whether you're taking advantage of the flexibility and low cable weight of USB2, or the fast speeds of USB3.
Our experience of working with demanding scientific applications has given us an advanced understanding of sealing techniques. This understanding allows us to create a condensation free environment, and means your desiccant lasts much longer between recharges. We're using the same quartz fused cover glass as our Atik 383L camera to prevent condensation forming on the outside of the glass when the camera's cooled. This added level of performance and reliability means you can spend less time maintaining your equipment, and more time imaging with it.

An innovative design based upon the Sony IMX 428 sensor, the ACIS 7.1 houses the 7.1MP sensor in a dried, air-tight environment which is sealed to industrial standards to enable condensation free imaging. The camera has low read noise and can image at the rapid speeds at both 12 and 16-bit formats. With the signature Atik blend of form and function, the ACIS 7.1 provides a sensitive, high megapixel sensor at a competitive price point.
The ACIS 7.1 also possesses a new case design that has allowed the camera to achieve a cooling delta of -35°C below ambient, this keeps thermal noise under control, irrespective of where you are imaging from.
A Variety of Modes
The Atik ACIS 7.1 offers three different power modes:
PowerSave Mode - Allows for the highest quality images to be taken
Normal Mode - The camera operates at its default setting to allow for normal imaging
Fast Mode - Takes advantage of the on-board DDR memory to return a constant stream of images. Fast mode increases the frame rate of ACIS 7.1 to 30FPS. This can increase to 175FPS through the use of sub framing, and reaching 300 FPS when used with Dusk.

From the outset, the ACIS 7.1 has benefited from a built-in 256mb DDR3 image buffer to help remove amp glow and other artifacts caused by data transfer over USB2, all while preventing issues with dropped frames.
We're using the same quartz fused cover glass as our Atik 4 series cameras to prevent condensation forming on the outside of the glass when the camera's cooled. This added level of performance and reliability means you can spend less time maintaining your equipment, and more time imaging with it.
