    Astrodon:

    Simplify Your Imaging!
Astrodon LRGB Gen2 I-Series Tru-Balance Filters were designed for cameras containing the Interline KAI11002, KAI16000, sensors.

    Astrodon LRGB Gen2 I-Series Tru-Balance Filters
Astrodon LRGB Gen2 I-Series Tru-Balance Filters are designed to approximately equalize the flux of  Interline CCD detectors (formerly Kodak), including compensation for the solar photon flux.  The I-Series filters compensate for the lower red response of these Interline detectors affecting the design of the Green and Red filters.  The Luminance and Blue filters are the same as those in our E-Series.  This means that your RGB color combine weights will be approximately 1:1:1 within perhaps 10% for equal length exposures.  This can never be perfect, but it does allow you to take one exposure time for all of your RGB data and therefore, only just one corresponding dark exposure time.  Again, this saves you precious imaging time and thus, simplifies your imaging.

Set includes Luminance (NIR/UV-blocked colorless), Red, Green and Blue filters
    1.25″ mounted, 31, 49.7 mm dia.
3 +/-0.025 mm single 1/4 wave fused silica substrate before coating

Astro Hutech: Light pollution suppression (LPS) filters are designed to suppress the common emission lines generated by artificial lighting, yet allow the important nebula emission lines to pass, thus enhancing the contrast of astronomical objects, particularly emission nebulae.

Unlike other light pollution suppression filters, IDAS filters are specifically designed for balanced color transmission using the IDAS unique Multi-Bandpass Technology (MBT) process. The balanced transmission allows color photographs to be taken with minimal color cast to broadband emission objects such as stars, galaxies and globular clusters. The comparison photos at right demonstrate (qualitatively) that the IDAS filter maintains better color balance than other filters which have been designed for visual use.

LPS filters utilize the unique IDAS Ion Gun Assisted Deposition (IGAD*) coating technology for superior coating durability (quartz hardness) and safer cleaning. IGAD coatings also improve temperature and humidity stability of the filter performance, reducing spectrum shifts down to +/-1nm from the +/-3 or 4nm shift of standard coatings.

CCD imaging can also benefit, because although CCD imagers can already shoot through light pollution to some extent, including an LPS filter to the setup gives an added (signal-to-noise) edge

Note, however, that light pollution suppression filters are not a perfect substitute for dark skies.

Optolong: The Optolong CLS filter will improve contrast and increase the visibility of weak outer regions on most emitted, planetary and supernova residual nebulae from polluted locations in a color imaging camera.

The Optolong CLS-CCD filter works by specifically reducing the transmission of wavelengths of light pollution, in particular the artificial type caused by vapors of sodium vapor and mercury vapor at high and low pressure. The use of a CLS filter will also increase the contrast by reducing the light radiation caused by the neutral oxygen emissions normally observed in the atmosphere.

The CLS EOS APS-C Clip Filter consists of multi-layered Schott glass with ion deposition technology to ensure scratch resistance and stability on the central wavelength, or CWL. The filter cell is made of light and solid metal, CNC machined, sandblasted, black anodized and then laser engraved.

Optolong: The Optolong CLS-CCD filter will improve contrast and increase the visibility of weak outer regions on most emitted, planetary and supernova residual nebulae from polluted locations in a color imaging camera.

The infrared wavelength of 700-1100nm is cut on the Optolong CLS-CCD filter, which makes it different from the standard CLS filter and makes the CLS-CCD a photographic filter only. A separate IR-cut filter is not necessary when imaging with the CLS-CCD since the IR has already been cut.

The Optolong CLS-CCD filter works by specifically reducing the transmission of wavelengths of light pollution, in particular the artificial type caused by vapors of sodium vapor and mercury vapor at high and low pressure. The use of a CLS-CCD filter will also increase the contrast by reducing the light radiation caused by the neutral oxygen emissions normally observed in the atmosphere.

The Opterster CLS-CCD EOS APS-C Clip Filter consists of multi-layered Schott glass with ion deposition technology to ensure scratch resistance and stability on the central wavelength, or CWL. The filter cell is made of light and solid metal, CNC machined, sandblasted, black anodized and then laser engraved.

Using a Clip Filter on Your Canon APS-C Camera

The Optolong CLS-CCD clip filter can be inserted without tools; Simply use your fingers to insert or remove the filter. Once inserted correctly, it can not fall unintentionally.
No modification of the Canon EOS DSLR case is required. All lens functions will work with the installed clip, including focus, screen and image stabilization,
The Optolong fog filter prevents dust from settling on the sensor during long exposures.
APS-C clip filters are compatible with EOS APS-C series cameras, including EOS 1100D / 600D / 60D, and so on. If you have a full frame EOS camera, Optolong also offers filters for these cameras.
Optolong Clip filters do not work with the Canon EF-S series lenses. These lenses invade the interior space of the camera body that would normally be supported by the clip filter.
To use the EOS / T2 and 2 "adapters to attach your camera to a telescope, you must first insert the Clip-Filter and then install the desired lens adapters.

Optolong: The Optolong H-Alpha 7nm is a very narrow emission-line filter that works by permitting a 7nm bandwidth of light, focused on the 656nm wavelength through, and blocking the transmission of contrast-killing light pollution wavelengths. Wavelengths that are in charge of natural light pollution, or skyglow, are radically decreased, as is artificial light pollution brought about by high and low pressure sodium and mercury vapor lights. The outcome is a high contrast image that uncovers the H-alpha line in all its brilliance.

This Optolong H-Alpha EOS APS Clip filter will give a well defined contrast between the skyglow ackground and H-alpha transmitting objects, but since it has a FWHM of only 7nm, you won't see the same number of stars in the last picture as you would with the Optolong 12nm H-Alpha Filter. Utilize this filter alone for CCD or DSLR imaging, or utilize together with OIII 6.5nm and SII 6.5nm filters to get a tricolor picture of vaporous nebulae from light polluted areas.

The Optolong EOS APS H-Alpha 7nm Filter is made with Schott glass that has been multi-coated with  ion-assisted deposition technology to guarantee scratch resistance and soundness on the central wavelength, or CWL. The filter cell is made of lightweight, strong metal and is CNC machined, sand-blasted, black anodized, and  finally laser engraved.

Optolong: The L-Pro filter from Optolong is a multi-bandpass filter that works well for photographic use with your Canon EOS APS DSLR. Better color balance is achieved by maximizing the transmission band, allowing you to produce images of broadband emission objects with nominal color cast.

By reducing the transmission of artificial and natural light pollution, including neutral oxygen (skyglow) as well as light given off from mercury and sodium vapor lamps, the background sky will become darker, allowing the good stuff to shine through. High transmission of main nebulae emission lines at OIII, H-Beta, NII, H-alpha, and SII, when combined with the precision off-band blocking of contrast-killing light pollution, makes this filter perfect for most emission nebulae, reflection nebula, and dark nebulae.

The Optolong EOS APS Clip L-Pro Filter is made with Schott glass that has been multi-coated with an ion-assisted deposition technology to ensure scratch resistance and stability on the central wavelength, or CWL. The filter cell is made of lightweight, strong metal and is CNC machined, sand-blasted, black anodized, and then laser engraved.

Using a Clip Filter on your Canon APS-C Camera

CNC machined and black anodized aero-metal filter cell that is ultra-thin to provide largest clear aperture; Laser-engraved to prevent fading
Multiple layers of anti-reflection non-cementing coatings applied via electron-beam gun evaporation with Ion-assisted deposition
Optolong Filter Manufacturing Processes and Parameters

Filter substrate is fine-optically polished to 1/4 wave and <30 parallelism over both surfaces

    High transmission at major nebula emission lines (i.e. H-alpha 656nm, OIII 496nm and 500nm, SII 672nm and H-beta 486nm)
Precision off-band blocking, specifically the major emission lines of artificial light pollution (i.e. Na 589nm, Hg 435nm and 578nm)
High value transmission of pass-band and optical density of off-band is assured through Optolong’s planetary rotation system, a homogenous and precise coating procedure

Optolong: This UHC, or Ultra High Contrast, filter from Optolong provides a bit more contrast than the CLS filter, but works in much the same way. By reducing the contrast-killing effects of light pollution caused by both artificial and natural sources, the background sky becomes darker, increasing the visibility of your favorite deep-sky objects. Skyglow, which is caused by neutral oxygen in the atmosphere, as well as light from high and low pressure sodium vapor lights and mercury vapor lamps are suppressed significantly, which means you can view or image from areas of heavy light pollution.

Optolong’s UHC filter lets desirable wavelengths pass at a peak transmission of 95%, including emission lines at OIII, H-Beta, NII, H-Alpha, and SII. This filter also has a substantial red passband, so objects like the Orion Nebula look awesome!

The Optolong EOS APS UHC Clip Filter is made with Schott glass that has been multi-coated with an ion-assisted deposition technology to ensure scratch resistance and stability on the central wavelength, or CWL. Each filter cell is made of lightweight, strong metal and is CNC machined, sand-blasted, black anodized, and then laser engraved.

    Optolong: About L-eNhance Filter
The relentless spread of urbanization and its associated light pollution have become a growing problem for all amateurs and astro photographers. The current solutions to the problem can be expensive and might include the purchase of a monochrome camera, several types of narrowband filters and a filter wheel.

L-eNhance provides an economical and practical solution for amateurs. It is a dual-band pass filter which has been designed for DSLR (digital SLR), color CMOS and CCD cameras. The convenience and cost effectiveness of this filter allows amateurs to image a rich selection of astronomical images, even in bright, heavily light-polluted areas.

Optolong believes the design of our L-eNhance filter is a technical innovation among filters. It effectively isolates the H-Alpha, H-Beta, and Oxygen III nebula emission lines and achieves a maximum transmission of up to 90%. The performance of this filter delivers images that superbly control the impact from light polluted skies.

Hydrogen is the largest, the most primitive, the simplest, and the oldest element in the universe. Scientists
consider that Hydrogen amounts to more than 90% of visible substance in space. Our sun is 5 billion years old,
but so far hydrogen is still the key matter of nuclear fusion. While the sulfur element does not have much
scientific significance, so keeping H and O is meaning for exploration of life.
Therefore, we highlight H-a, H-b, O3 and O2, and reduce the signal of sulfur

Optolong: The L-Pro (L-Professional) filter is designed to improve the visibility of various deep sky objects. By selectively reducing the transmission of wavelengths of light pollutants, specifically those produced by artificial lightings including mercury vapor lamps, both high & low pressure sodium vapor lights and the unwanted natural light caused by neutral oxygen emission in our atmosphere (i.e. skyglow). Together with the highly transparent in main nebula emission lines at OIII( 496nm and 500nm), H-beta (486nm), NII (654nm and 658nm), H-alpha (656nm) as well as SII (672nm), the filter is suitable for enhancing the contrast and details for both visual and photograghic purpose at sub-rural area with heavy light pollution.
