  1. for goodness sake. can you re-issue, sorry I've only just seen this response. I thought the invoice would be valid for a month!!!
  2. Hi, Please can you reactivate the 30% discount code for BYE (which has now expired Order #56693, I was not surprised that you made it expire tbh!). As I said before I don't feel at all happy about the way I have been treated or shut down on here but I feel I have no choice now, which really shouldn't be the outcome. Some people on here clearly think that just buying another licence is the easy option and that cost isn't an issue, it is for me. And I have explained exactly my reasoning for why this is extremely unfair as I now have an unusable product through no fault of my own (BYN). I am
  3. Hi admin, Please can you give me the 30% discount code for BYE. I don't feel at all happy about the way I have been treated or shut down on here but I feel I have no choice now, which really shouldn't be the outcome. Some people on here clearly think that just buying another licence is the easy option and that cost isn't an issue, it is for me. 4. but i bought the product for my d80 only to be told later it is not supported. how is that fair?
  5. we are going round in circles here and you seem unwilling to assist. I am sure you are able to stop the license key I have for the Nikon from being used aren't you? Is that not possible? I purchased it for the Nikon D80 in May (after trialling it) and you told me much later in September that it was no longer supported. Normally you get 12 months from the date of purchase and if the product is defective or not fit for purpose you can get a full refund. All I'm asking is to switch to using EOS.
  6. Also, I purchased the license in May. You told me Sep 5th that D80 had been removed from the supported list.
  7. Why can't I just relinquish the Nikon license and switch to the EOS license? You're not losing anything.
  8. I totally understand that it's not supported (now) and you can't support it. I'm just asking to switch the license since this was not made clear when I purchased the Nikon version.
  9. I appreciate they are sold as a separate product and that they are developed separately. The problem is the version of the software I was sold has the D80 option (see image) but it doesn't support "Bulb" i.e. fully functioning. I asked about the D80 in my email when I trialled it and was told it would work, but only now do I know it only works partially, and you have since put on your website that the D80 is not supported at all, which is fine. All I am asking is to switch my license to EOS.
  10. that's interesting because way back in jan '20 I got the trial edition of backyard nikon to see if it would work with my Nikon D80 and it did so (although it did crash sometimes) i went ahead and purchased the premium edition. I conversed with one of your colleagues at the time and they said it worked with the D80 except that it needed to be run in compatibility mode. (The D80 option is even there in the menus of the software!!!!) At the time, the "Supported Cameras" link was not on your website. This seems highly unfair that I can't switch to the EOS version.
  11. Thankyou. I was not aware of that when purchased. In that case, I do have a Canon EOS100D (which is supported) is it possible to switch my license to BackyardEOS? Kind regards, Jon.
  12. Does anyone know where I can get a serial cable for a Nikon D80? I want to be able to use Backyard Nikon for exposures of longer than 30 seconds but I can't control bulb mode from USB so I need a serial cable, i.e. one end of the cable goes into the cameras shutter release port and the other end is USB and connects to my laptop. Any help as to where I can buy such a cable would be amazing. Kind regards, Jon.
  13. Thankyou, my Nikon D80 works fine for everything else, as I am using the Windows compatibility mode. Where do I get the shoestring DSUSB cable from?
  14. Hi, Which cable do I need to get my Nikon D80 to take exposures longer than 30 seconds in BULB mode? (And where can I buy one!) Thanks, Jon.

    Nikon D80

Hi there, Thanks for that. I tried it but I am still unable to get BackyardNIKON to connect. I tried various compatibility modes but still got the same result - the crackle and then nothing. Is there something else I can try? (I need another trial sorry) I tried APT as well, that doesn't work either. My PC recognises it as a D80 though and the Nikon bespoke software (Nikon ViewNX) works fine also. Happy to purchase this product if I can get it working for my D80. I tried all the suggestions that are listed in the program. Regards, Jon.
