BYE Stopped Working

MalcolmPorter

Question

Hi everyone. Just purchased my copy of the latest version of BYE. Downloaded it, installed it and entered ID and key - received a message saying that the application had stopped. Tried reinstalling three times - still the same result.

Very frustrating. Any ideas?

Guylain,

I installed BYE on my desktop computer and everything works perfectly. It's my laptop that's causing the problems.I think that you are right - I have been experiencing some Windows issues with it and may have to re-install the operating system.

I have BYE working so I will close this thread.

Thanks for the great support guys!

Malcolm,

I'm sorry that you are having a problem. What version of BYE? I am assuming that it is 3.1.3 since you are a new user, but it does not hurt to say.  What version of Windows? 32-bit or 64-bit Running on a Mac under Parallels or BootCamp?

When you re-installed BYE did you re-install it to the same folder or did you select a different folder?  I would try installing it to a different folder.  BYE will not try to use the same configuration files, which may be the cause of your issue.

If the problem still occurs then I would post the detailed set of instructions that describes the steps necessary to cause the issue.  Guylain may also want you to privately send him the log files.

Can you please post a print screen of the error?

Most errors of this nature are due to Windows Driver errors or conflict between devices.

Also, make sure your Windows is up to date and more importantly the Microsoft .Net Framework 4.0.

Please keep us posted.

Hi Rick,

Thanks very much for your response.

I'm running Windows 7, 32-bit. V 3.1.3 of BYE. before I reinstalled I deleted the previously created directory (and its contents).

Just tried reinstalling to a different destination directory - same problem.
