Not when the shutter is triggered, but if you have configured BYE to save to the card you should see:

14:47:38  ERROR EDS_ERR_TAKE_PICTURE_NO_CARD_NG : EDSDK.EdsSendCommand(cameraRef, 4, 65539)

At least I get that error, along with an audible tone when try to save to a non-existent card.

I am running BYE 3.2.2 with a T5i.

Different DSLR Models will treat this situation differently - some will refuse to proceed with the Exposure; some will proceed without any Error or Notification; and some do not support saving to Camera even when configured as such.

My T2i and 7DmkII will present Errors.  My 60D won't present an Error but also won't write to Card even if Card is present.

The best you can do is: 1) Check your BYE Logs; 2) do a Test Session at Kitchen Table with same DSLR and Lens/Scope and look/listen for any Warning Tones on either DSLR or PC; and 3) Search the Forum...
