Park Scope at end of capture plan option

dts350z

Question

Short of scripting and full automation, what would be really useful would be an option to PARK an ASCOM connected scope at the end of a capture plan.

Yes the auto guider might freak out, but newer versions of PHD2 stop guiding when the mount slews.

A PARK at end of capture feature would save me from getting up at O'dark thirty to park the mount!

This is implemented. Look for it in the upcoming BackyardEOS 3.1.4 and BackyardNIKON 1.0.2 release later next week.

If you want a pre-release of 3.1.4 to test it send me an email to support@otelescope.com :)

Thanks so much for this!

In actual usage, it seems it could be improved by aborting a pending park when you abort a capture plan.

Yes, I can (try to ;0) learn to make that manual click BEFORE aborting, but as is it's pretty frustrating to get on a target, get autoguiding, then decide to abort (change exposure, etc.) only to have the scope park.  :(

Perhaps this could be a setting if we don't think it's universally a good idea?

Another solution could be a pop of dialog:

"Park Scope? (Parking in 30 seconds) Yes No" or similar. which would give you a chance to about the park, if you were at the laptop at the end of the capture plan (and had forgotten to unclick the park link).
