Main Imaging Mode not showing live view

louiegoods

Question

Canon T3i. Live view works for all other modes but states "Drag images here to preview" without showing picture in Main Imaging Mode.  It will take a picture and capture the object but will not display live view. I know this is something simple but I just cannot find the solution. Help would be appreciated.

The LiveView stream is only displayed in Frame & Focus, Planetary and Drift Align modes.  Imaging mode does not display LiveView frames; you can only display the last captured image or a preview a drag-and-drop image.  This is by design and is long-standing behavior.

On the Imaging screen you are typically executing a capture plan and when the camera is capturing a long exposure image, it is not possible to see LiveView.

if LiveView is what you want to see, switch to the Frame & Focus mode, but the camera won't let you do both at the same time.

I'm not sure I understand.

LIVE VIEW is only possible in Frame&Focus, Planetary, and Drift Alignment mode.  Live view is not possible in Imaging mode, it never was.

The 'Drag images here to preview" is only available in imaging mode and its purpose is to allow you to view previously taken images by dragging images from Windows in BYE.

Regards,
