I have a D700 that I'm using for prime focus astrophotography and would like to be able to transition from an intervalometer to BackyardNikon. With a simple USB connection of course I can only do <=30 sec exposures and no live view. Is it correct that if I get DSUSB and DSCBL-12 that I will be able to use bulb mode and live view? Any other caveats with respect to BYN features with my camera?

Yes, and no. Yes, with that model you need a DSUSB or compatible cable to control the shutter for bulb exposures ( >30 seconds). No, you should only need the USB cable for LiveView. As

No need for a key, I already bought premium. v1.0.1 solves the problem, live view works like a charm now! Thanks for the really quick turnaround on this!
