license validation error

daverc11

Question

I just downloaded BYEOS 3.1.2 under my license.  When I try to run the program, it asks for the license key which I cut and pasted from the program.  I get a "license validation error" message no matter what I do.  Any help?

I have the same problem. I downloaded backyardEOS this morning.

No matter what I do with the validation code , either copy and paste it or type it out correctly

it will not validate the trial version.

Please help

Hi,

Your key is valid, I just tried it and it worked.

Trial keys MUST use the latest version, make sure you download 3.1.3.

Also, trials require internet connection to validate.  Make the computer you are using BYE on is connected to the internet.

Keep me posted,

Regards

I have downloaded the trial version 313, but when I try to validate I get an error
License fault error! (i:INACTIVE) - The key provided has been deactivated

The license key is copied/pasted

Any clues?

Yes. I got a telescope only a few months ago and have just started a bit of astro imaging. I only heard about the program yesterday

Okay, let me ckeck the software activation server for the cause.  I'll be in touch.

Hi Mike,

Okay, I have cancelled your trial request.  Please go to our store and add BackyardNIKON trial again in your cart and proceed to checkout.  This will generate a new trial key for you.  The new one should work.

Keep me posted please.

Success!
Sort of...

I use two cameras, usually I would use a Canon 100D. It seems the program has considerable "difficulty" with this model. Imaging works, but focussing and pretty much everything does not work.

My 5DIII, however, works fine. All functions seem to work.

I'm in Australia, so we dont use the "rebel" or "T" model identifiers, so I'm not sure what a 100D is called over there. (its the smallest DSLR model they have)

Very impressive bit of software! (when its working :-)

More success!
The problems seemed to be centred on aspects that use the live view, and after rummaging through the cameras menu I discovered that the "live view function" was "disabled"
needless to say, I never use live view in photography
So it now appears that all is functional on the two cameras that I usually use.

Only issue now is that the notebook that I use for field work is rather slow and the image preview takes quite a while as the images are "processed"

Just need to throw more money at the problem! :-(
