Trial Version Does Not Start Without Internet Connection

I am testing the trial version and it is requiring an internet connection to validate license before starting it. If I want to use the dithering feature while outside someplace under dark sky and my laptop has no access to internet then does this mean this software becomes useless?

Trials require internet connection at every app start up, purchase keys do not.

Software is not useless, you would need to purchase a copy to benefit from app startup with Internet connect.  

Alternatively, you can start the application while you are at home and minimize the application, put your laptop to sleep. Travel to your dark site, maximize the application. If you do this, I would recommend you start 2 or 3 additional BYE instances and minimize them all as a safety blanket in case you need to restart the application.

The Trial license requires an Internet connection in order to validate that your license is still valid (that the 30 day trial period has not expired). You can blame the people who tried to cheat their license, despite the reasonable cost for a permanent license, by resetting their system time.

You have some choices that don't violate the BYE End User License:

Verify as much of BYE's functionality as you can before purchasing a permanent license, which does not  require an internet connection

Start BYE on your laptop before leaving for the dark sky site and then just put the laptop to sleep, but don't shut it down. You may want to start up multiple copies of BYE in case you need to shut one of them down at the site. There are 4 instances in the installation folder. They use the same license, but different settings, so you should probably set them all up with the settings that you want to use.

Use your smartphone as a WiFi hotspot to let BYE phone home for validation, if you can get a cell signal.
