BYE/BYN Premium Image Preview to Populate Camera Info Center from EXIF

s3igell

Question

Populate the Shooting Info elements of the Camera Info Center from the EXIF Data for the Image being Previewed.

If the Image was taken with BYE/BYN, then this data will be within the Backyard* Exif data (except for Battery Status - maybe this should be an additional Exif item added by BYE/BYN), else most of it will be within the EXIF data under Tags that are consistent throughout the Brand line (Canon or Nikon).

EXIF Data exists as well (if the Image was taken with BYE/BYN) to populate the Weather Center and most elements of the Capture Plan (the latter would help inform/remind the User about these details, but might overwrite a manually-entered Offline Capture Plan).

I think this will/may bring confusion.

The camera information centre is a live camera property value centre based on current camera status.

Filling this centre with -image- information in a disconnected mode will lead to confusion when the camera is connected... I'm I seeing the live camera info of am I seeing image information.

OK, I can agree with that...It might seem that those are Current data...

Then perhaps a Pop-up that displays effectively that same Image Information - Anything but needing to dig through the EXIF data to bring out the Info that we are used to seeing in BYE Camera Info Center.

This info is of Value whether you are using Preview to Review an Image from the Previous Night's Imaging Session; or are looking to use an Example Image from a fellow observer to figure out Starting Values for one's own Capture Plan for the Same DSO Target; or are Restarting after a middle-of-the-night Reboot or Battery Drain (it happens...)
