How-to preview images in BYE/BYN?

admin

Question

In BackyardEOS and BackyardNIKON it is possible to view raw file images.

  1. Start BYE/BYN Premium
  2. If you don't have a camera connected press the "Preview" mode button
  3. If you have a camera connected press the "Image Capture" mode button.
  4. Drag any RAW images (or jpg) from Windows in the picture box (where images are usually displayed)

That is it.  BYE/BYN Premium will load all your images for viewing.  The thumbnail strip at the bottom will show all images that were dragged/loaded and you can navigate through them.

You can also right-click on the thumbnail to rate your images as your normally can do when images are capture via BYE/BYN.

Hope this helps,

You can also use the "Rubics Cube" icon to pull-up a table of all the Image's EXIF Data, in which you can find almost all the Shooting and Exposure details that aren't obvious from the Image Filename - you can even find the Sensor Temperature right at the top in the "Backyard exif tag list" (if the RAW was taken with BYE/BYN) or as "CameraTemperature" usually toward the bottom (if not shot through BYE/BYN).
