Cannot connect to Z50

judasmyboy

Question

I am not able to connect my camera to BYN

Camera: Nikon Z50

Firmware: 2.0.2 and 2.10 both were tried

USB cable: Nikon supplied USB cable that came with the camera.

BYN: v2.1.1 and v2.1.2. Tried both version. Classic version.

I had tried the Trial version of BYN back in November/December 2020 time-frame and if I correctly recall, I was able to connect to my camera back then. I tried BYN only once during the Trial period so I maybe mis-recalling.

I can connect by camera to qDslDashboard. Attached a logfile, hopefully that sheds some light on what is going wrong.

I was able to figure out the cause of Camera Not Found. Incorrect driver detection was the cause. I had previously installed qDslDashboard, which requires a proprietary camera driver installation (WinUSB method). This driver installation was blocking BYN to communicate with the Z50 using the SDK. Uninstalling the proprietary driver, resolved the issue. BYN can now communicate with Z50 without any issues.

In reply to the above posted suggestion...thanks for looking into this. In Z50, if the USB port is connected, the option to use WiFi is not available (greyed out). I was not using Snapbridge.
